Më 4 korrik 1918, me rastin e festës kombëtare të Shteteve të Bashkuara, Presidenti Woodrow Wilson ftoi në një pritje zyrtare trupin diplomatik të akredituar në Uashington, si edhe përfaqësuesit e kombeve të robëruara. Në mesin e të ftuarve ishte edhe At Fan S. Noli, i cili mori pjesë si përfaqësues i Federatës Panshqiptare të Amerikës “VATRA”.
Duke raportuar për këtë ngjarje, gazeta Dielli shkruante: “At Fan S. Noli foli dy herë me Presidentin Wilson dhe një herë me zonjën Wilson. Fjalët e pakta që ai pati rast të shkëmbente me Presidentin Wilson ndihmuan në shpëtimin e Shqipërisë nga copëtimi i mëtejshëm.”
Ky takim mbetet një nga momentet më domethënëse të veprimtarisë diplomatike të diasporës shqiptare në Shtetet e Bashkuara dhe një dëshmi e rolit të rëndësishëm që At Fan Noli dhe Federata “VATRA” luajtën në mbrojtjen e çështjes shqiptare në arenën ndërkombëtare.

On July 4, 1918, during the United States’ Independence Day celebrations, President Woodrow Wilson hosted an official reception for the diplomatic corps accredited in Washington, as well as representatives of nations living under foreign rule. Among the invited guests was Rev. Fan S. Noli, who attended as the representative of the Albanian patriotic organization VATRA (the Pan-Albanian Federation of America).
Reporting on the occasion, the newspaper Dielli wrote: “Rev. Fan S. Noli spoke twice with President Wilson and once with Mrs. Wilson. The few words he had the opportunity to exchange with President Wilson helped save Albania from further partition.”
This meeting remains one of the most significant moments in the diplomatic efforts of the Albanian diaspora in the United States and stands as a testament to the important role played by Rev. Fan S. Noli and VATRA in defending the Albanian national cause on the international stage.
